ECPAT UK took part in the Christmas Big Give week between 30th November and 7th December 2021, and because of your generous support we raised £6,805 including gift aid!

We secured £1,500 in pledges from the Wyndham Charitable Trust and £1,500 from the Childhood Trust, which was used to match all the donations received during Big Give Week, 30th November – 7th December 2021.

These donations will have a huge impact on our work with young victims of trafficking and we are so grateful for the support we've received. With this funding we will be able to:

  • provide festive hampers for every member of our youth group
  • provide one-to-one support, safeguarding and advocacy for our youth group members
  • train frontline professionals to improve their support & care for young people
  • empower young victims of child trafficking to become agents of change and have their voices heard in decision making around policy and legislation that effects them

As part of our Big Give Week, we also ran some exciting events which you can view here:

It's About Family

The ECPAT UK family gathered together to celebrate the start of the festive season with inspirational speakers, singing, poetry and guests including esteemed Palestinian signer Nancy Hawa, and Actors Sarah Agha and Safia Lamrani. We enjoyed this artistic event reflecting on the meaning of family and heard from our very own youth group members on what family means to them.

Stable Futures Webinar

ECPAT UK is campaigning for #StableFutures for child victims of trafficking because young people tell us that stability, security and certainty is what matters to them most. The Nationality and Borders Bill is being debated in parliament and will remove protections, increase risks and reduce security.

In this edition of ECPAT UK’s Practice Webinar series, we heard directly from young people about what #StableFutures means to them. We also considered the importance of practitioners in safeguarding and supporting young people in the long term, preventing further abuse and re-trafficking and achieving the stable futures they have a right to expect.

Although the Big Give campaign has come to an end, you can still support our work providing essential support to young victims of child trafficking.
