BIG GIVE CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE 2022 - THANK YOU!

ECPAT UK was delighted to take part once again this year in the Big Give Christmas Challenge Week from 29th November to 6th December 2022.

It was a real team effort with 59 donors giving what they could and all doubled!

In partnership with our generous funders at The Childhood Trust and Wyndham Charitable Trust and individual donors, donations received were matched!

With your support we raised over £10,000 in total with Gift Aid to support young victims of trafficking with festive hampers and critical services through our work:

festive hampers and gifts for every member of our youth group and their children
one-to-one support, safeguarding and advocacy for our youth group members
training frontline professionals to improve their support for young people.
youth-led campaigning event, enabling young people to advocate for safer futures

We appreciate that it is a hard time for everyone right now and appreciate all the support we support given including those who shared and liked us on social media and joined us at our festive event during the week of the campaign: all about.. love

Never more needed! Charities like ours are facing a triple whammy of increased demand for our support from young people who are struggling, increased costs and fundraising challenges right now.

National Referral Mechanism

The National Referral Mechanism is a process set up by the Government to identify and support victims of trafficking in the UK. It was born out of the Government's obligation to identify victims under the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Human Trafficking, which came into force on 1 February 2008.

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is an international human rights treaty that grants all children and young people (aged 17 and under) a comprehensive set of rights. The UK signed the Convention on 19 April 1990, ratified it on 16 December 1991 and it came into force on 15 January 1992.
