In June 2022 ECPAT UK partnered with the Big Give and The Childhood Trust to take part in the Champions for Children matched fundraising event, raising a whopping £6,745 including gift aid!

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated and supported our campaign - this would not have been possible without you.

The donations we received will have a huge impact on our work and will contribute to our new Thrive project. As an extension of our current Youth Programme, the Thrive project will enable us to offer specialist in-house, one-to-one therapy sessions for our youth group members, as well as trauma-informed group sessions and creative art therapy sessions.

Young people are entitled to adequate therapeutic support in a timely manner, however, this is rarely the case. Specialist support for young victims of trafficking is scarce and young people often face long waitlists for services. Your donations have allowed us to expand our Youth Programme offer and provide this specialist and essential service for young people.

As part of our Big Give week, we also hosted our first in-person event of 2022!

Thrive

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Wednesday 15th June 2022 from 4-6pm at Doughty Street Chambers to reflect on the importance of creating safe, therapeutic spaces for young people who have experienced trauma; promoting wellbeing; and providing mental health support.

It was brilliant to hear from:

  • TB, Youth Advisory Group member and artist
  • Claire Hubberstey, CEO, One Small Thing charity working to reform the justice system through promoting trauma-informed approaches
  • Silvia Nicolaou Garcia, Senior Associate Solicitor and Elizabeth Smith, Solicitor in Public Law at Simpson Millar who specialise in assisting victims of trafficking, unaccompanied minors and vulnerable adults
  • Julia Aaisha, musician, music psychologist & teacher, and Founder & Director of Made2Measure Opera and Unity Music

If you didn't get the chance to support this campaign but would still like to donate to our work, you can do so here.

We would like to give a special thanks to The Big Give, The Childhood Trust, our pledge donors, The Rotary Club of London and Doughty Street Chambers for their support.
