ECPAT UK’s youth advisory group was set up in recognition that young people affected by trafficking are the experts in their own lives. The group is made up of experts-by-experience including former members of our youth programme and current longer-term members who are in a position to get involved with steering our organisational campaigns and strategy.

Meeting bimonthly, members take part in activities that build their skills in public speaking, being a media spokesperson, public campaigning on digital platforms, training frontline professionals and more. Members are recognised for their contributions made to our work.

ECPAT UK’s award-winning youth programme was the first ever peer support group for trafficked young people in the UK. It provides a safe space where young people who have been through emotional trauma can socialise and get involved in projects, such as drama and arts, as a way for them to recover from their experiences.
