This December, we celebrated 25 years of ECPAT UK. Over the last quarter of a century, we’ve secured major wins for some of the world’s most vulnerable children and ensured trafficked children’s rights remain on the public and parliamentary agenda.

ECPAT UK has a long and proud tradition of fighting for the rights of children everywhere to be protected from exploitation. Since our beginnings as a coalition of leading UK charities, we've advocated for children affected by exploitation - including children abroad abused by UK nationals and children trafficked to and within the UK - leading the way for anti-trafficking work in the UK and shaping new ways of thinking about and tackling this issue.

Debbie Beadle, Director of Programmes at ECPAT UK, said

“Over the last 25 years ECPAT UK has achieved so much for children and young people who have been trafficked in the UK. We've been a loud and tireless champion for vulnerable young people who is not afraid to speak out and hold the government to account.

“We’re proud of what we've achieved for children’s rights and for giving young people a platform to have their voices heard by those in power."

Jasmine O’Connor, CEO of Anti-Slavery International said

“ECPAT UK has led the way in securing the rights of vulnerable children in the UK and across the world. We are proud to have been one of the founding members of the ECPAT coalition.

“Over the years Anti-Slavery has worked closely with ECPAT UK to protect children affected by trafficking and make sure they have safe and supported futures. Today, we collaborate as members of the Anti-Trafficking Monitoring Group, working together with twelve other organisations to make sure the UK Government fulfils its obligations.

“We hope that ECPAT UK, and our partnership with them, goes from strength to strength over the coming years.”

Here are some of our key achievements for children over the last 25 years
