Host a coffee and cake event

Get your friends, family, colleagues or community group together for coffee, cake, chat and good company while raising money for our vital work with trafficked children and young people.

How it works:

1) Get together with friends and family to bake your cakes - it's a great activity for the kids and you can even approach local businesses for donations of cake ingredients and coffee!
2) Set the date for your event and invite everyone in your networks
3) When your guests arrive, they donate the cost of a coffee and cake in a high street cafe to ECPAT UK in exchange for your delicious treats
4) You pay in the total raised online after your event, or send a cheque
4) We'll send you a certificate and thank you letter showing the impact of your support. If you give us permission, we'll give you a shout out on social media, too!

When you raise money for ECPAT UK we'll support you every step of the way - providing fundraising tips and advice on hosting a successful event.

National Referral Mechanism

The National Referral Mechanism is a process set up by the Government to identify and support victims of trafficking in the UK. It was born out of the Government's obligation to identify victims under the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Human Trafficking, which came into force on 1 February 2008.

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is an international human rights treaty that grants all children and young people (aged 17 and under) a comprehensive set of rights. The UK signed the Convention on 19 April 1990, ratified it on 16 December 1991 and it came into force on 15 January 1992.

In 2018 we worked with Care2 to call on the Home Secretary, Sajid Javid MP, to overhaul the current system of identification and support for victims of trafficking – the National Referral Mechanism (NRM).
