The coronavirus outbreak has changed the way we live our lives. We have all had to adapt to life under new conditions and learn to living with uncertainty.
 
These uncertain and isolating times are an everyday experience for the young people we support. Limited social contact, restrictions of movement and the falling away of vital support has left many trafficked young people vulnerable to further trauma and harm. 
 
ECPAT UK’s youth groups provide a stable community for those who have no support network in the UK.  Despite the impact of the pandemic, we're continuing to provide stability to those who have suffered the trauma of trafficking and remain vulnerable to further harm.

The impact of coronavirus makes supporting vulnerable young people even more challenging. But safeguarding victims of child trafficking remains our priority and we are taking every measure to support them, including:

• Adapting our services and developing individual support plans for each youth group member
• Linking young people to local support groups to prevent isolation and re-trafficking
• Providing emergency relief and crisis response to young people in need
• Advocating for the rights and needs of young people worst affected by the pandemic

ECPAT UK is reliant on voluntary donations to survive. Like many small charities, the pandemic has created uncertainty, delays to funding decisions and cancelled opportunities to raise money.
